Air freshener?

I was in the bathroom on the north end, and flying around in it was a sewer fly.  You know, those little black flies that look like a little fuzzy black ball with almost perfectly round wings?  They're almost impossible to hit when you try to smack them, and they're tough little bugs with almost anything else you try to throw at them.  I've hit them with water, hot water, soapy water, and even alcohol, and they just shake it off and fly away.

The only thing in there that I could spray it with was a pump-spray bottle of the air freshener that SWA uses for the aircraft lavs.  So when the sewer fly lit on the edge of the sink I grabbed the bottle of air freshener, sneaked up behind the fly, and sprayed it.

    It came apart.

    I mean _completely_ apart.

Its wings came off, its body hair came off, and it turned into a grease stain on the side of the sink.

    Air freshener did this?

And we breathe this stuff by choice?
