Subject: Crist only guilty by association
Good morning, M. Editor.
This is in response to the article "GOP investigation puts party misspending on Charlie Crist, Jim Greer" in the Saturday 18 Sep edition of the Times.
Can we please have some fact checking prior to headline writing? Everything mentioned in the report said that the misappropriation of party funds was done by Greer and Sansom. Charlie Crist was "there" a lot of the time, but at no time does the report specifically point the finger at him. The bias is subtle, the technique to put the accusation in the headline and then all but refute it in the text. Crist's detractors can then use the headline in their campaign against him, secure in the knowledge that most people will not actually read the article. This looks like an intentional media attempt to torpedo Charlie Crist's campaign.
